The Semi-Bluff In Poker: Double Your Chances Semi-Bluffing

Semi-Bluff Like The Poker Professionals...

Semi Bluff like a poker professional

THE SEMI BLUFF
The great poker theorist David Sklansky originally came up with the term semi-bluff to describe a bet with a hand, which if called, does not figure to be the best hand at that moment but has a reasonable chance of outdrawing those hands that initially called it. The semi-bluff, in contrast to an ordinary bluff (usually launched with a comparatively useless hand) provides a player with twice the chance of pulling off a win.

DOUBLE YOUR CHANCES
The semi-bluffer’s first chance is that an opponent will believe he is holding a premium hand and fold. If the opponent calls, the semi-bluffer’s second chance requires him to draw a card that takes his current hand ahead of his opposition. Professionals will tend to use a semi-bluff much more often than an outright bluff.

FREQUENTLY ASKED POKER QUESTIONS
Q: How do bonuses work for new players?
A:
A bonus is extra cash a site will give you when you make a deposit with them. It’s normally twenty or twenty five per cent up to a maximum of $100 to $150 for each deposit made. Beware of very high bonus offers as it usually means the site in question is desperate for customers. Security lies with large branded sites which are properly audited and inspected regularly. Better to have a bonus that’s real than one that’s a fantasy.

Q: What is an affiliate?
A: An affiliate is someone who recommends friends or work associates to an online poker site. The affiliate will earn a dollar payment or a percentage of the referred person’s rake for as long as that person continues to play on the site recommended. Most of the major sites have an affiliate program. This can be a very rewarding activity for someone with a wide circle of friends. A “cookie” or something similar will be issued which is how the person recommended will always be linked back to you in the site’s software.
