Phil Helmuth's
'The Madison Kid' Movie

Coming to a screen near you, soon....

“POKER BRAT” THE MOVIE!
Phil “Poker Brat” Hellmuth is about to see his remarkable and entertaining life story unfold on the silver screen with Hayden Christensen signed on for the starring role. Hellmuth earned his “Poker Brat” nickname because of his tempestuous outbursts all the way through his loud-mouthed career to no less than ten World Series of Poker bracelets. Phil is certainly the John McEnroe of the card table, both in terms of skill and temperament, making his rowdy life ideal fodder for the film currently in production under the working title “The Madison Kid”. There are some fabulous moments for high drama when a twenty four year old upstart Hellmuth takes on Johnny “Orient Express” Chan in a heads up for what Chan assumed would be his third consecutive WSOP bracelet. Hellmuth had other ideas and smashed Chan’s chance of making poker history with a world-first-on-the-trot-triple WSOP main event win. The movie is being made by the producers of “Air Force 1” and “The Hurricane” and has the kind of generous budget that underlines poker’s status now as mainstream global entertainment. Certainly one to catch in 2007.
