Female Poker Players Keep Winning

WOMEN ARE WINNING BIG TIME!
It’s quite a few decades since the legendary Amarillo “Slim” Preston made his famous utterance, “If a woman ever wins the World Series of Poker I’ll eat my ten gallon hat!” The day when that particular dish may be on the menu is fast approaching. Take a look at the latest winnings list for those “Ladies who do poker!”

TIP OF THE ICEBERG
This list goes on and on down into the hundred thousand dollar level. Women are natural poker players. They are often emotionally more stable than men. Usually they will handle their bankrolls and financial issues with more common sense. Importantly, they are far less likely to chase a losing streak or to break out of their betting comfort zones. All of this adds up to an ever increasing threat to male dominance of poker and it has been fuelled almost exclusively by the availability of safe and secure online gaming sites with hard earned reputations for fair play and regular audits. So if you’re a housewife dabbling with online Hold’em or a high powered female executive trying your hand at Omaha, make sure you are planning your strategy to win a free buy-in to next year’s 2007 World Series.
If you make the final table you’ll be a multi-millionairess over night and if you finish in the first one hundred you’ll be paying off your mortgage with no trouble at all.

FREQUENTLY ASKED POKER QUESTIONS
Q: What’s your attitude to suited hole cards pre-flop?
A: Not that positive because landing the flush is not a common event. The problem arises because most new players over-value suited cards, especially if they’re connected. I feel much more confident playing suited connectors or just suited hole cards if they are high cards. For example Ace-Jack of any suit would have me interested because I’m carrying the added insurance of a possible, even probable, high pair as a consolation if I fail to make a flush or a straight.

Q: I’ve just started playing Hold’em online? What’s your best simple tip?
A: Never limp in. Raise or re-raise. Quiet confidence is everything.
