The wonderful world of poker!

DO’S AND DON’TS
If you are starting out online there are some simple do’s and don’ts that will serve you well when interacting with other poker players.
Never make put-down remarks in the chat box if someone is playing badly. Be supportive and encourage them. Why? Well, first of all it’s polite but more important you want to keep losers in your game. Maybe the most important thing to remember is never to make comments or offer advice when a hand is actually in progress. This will go down very badly. Similarly, it will really get other players’ backs up if you’ve folded and you reveal what cards you had while that particular hand is still in play.

POKER GENIUS
Mike “Mad Genius” Caro is one of the best known professional poker players in the world. He’s famous for his best selling books “Championship Hold’em” and “Championship Omaha” and a raft of other poker bibles, including his contributions to Doyle Brunson’s multi million selling Super System Series. Brunson is on record as calling Caro, “The finest draw player alive!”. What is perhaps  less well known is that as long ago as the early 80’s, Caro produced a poker-playing software system called Orac (The reverse of Caro’s own name) which was the first “robot playing system” and a fore-runner of the “bot programmes” we see in evidence today. A clever dude two decades ahead of his time.

$100,000,000 PAY OUT!
The largest prize ever offered in poker has just been launched by TitanPoker.com. The site is running a freeroll tournament offering entrants the possibility of winning a $100,000,000 pay out if they land a Royal Flush in SPADES at the final table.
“We’re offering monster prizes for other hands too!” booms Titan’s Mike Catz. $1,000,000 for ANY Royal Flush. $750,000 for any straight flush and $500,000 for four Kings or Aces.

5,000,000 TO 1!
However, you might want to dwell on the odds that I’ve just calculated. The chances of a Royal Flush in spades are around 5,000,000 to 1 every time a hand is dealt. This being poker though, Titan have sensibly spent $1,000,000 on an insurance policy to cover the real life risk of the big prize being won! Better odds than the lottery!
